Chapter 2
Healthy teaching. The appearing of the glory
15 verses

Awaiting the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself on behalf of us, that he might redeem us from all lawlessness and might cleanse for himself a people around-his-own, zealous of good works.

1 And you speak what things are becoming to the healthy teaching:

2 older men to be sober, solemn, sound-minded, healthy in the faith, in the love, in the remaining-under;

3 older women likewise in a standing-in becoming to sacredness, not slanderers, not having been enslaved to much wine, teachers-of-good,

4 that they may sound-mind the young women to be husband-lovers, children-lovers,

5 sound-minded, pure, house-workers, good, being arranged-under to the own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.

6 The younger men likewise call-alongside to be sound-minded,

7 concerning all things holding yourself alongside a type of good works, in the teaching uncorruption, solemnity, incorruption,

8 a healthy word, uncondemnable, that the one out of the contrary may be turned-in-shame, having nothing bad to say concerning us.

9 Slaves to be arranged-under to own lords in all things, to be well-pleasing, not speaking-against,

10 not taking-away-for-themselves, but showing-in all good faithfulness, that they may adorn the teaching of our Savior God in all things.

11 For the grace of God, the saving one, was manifested to all men,

12 training us that, having denied the ungodliness and the worldly desires, we may live sound-mindedly and righteously and godly in the now age,

13 awaiting the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ,

14 who gave himself on behalf of us, that he might redeem us from all lawlessness and might cleanse for himself a people around-his-own, zealous of good works.

15 These things speak and call-alongside and expose with all command. Let no one despise you.
