And you, brothers, do not give-out-badly doing good.

1 Remaining, pray, brothers, concerning us, that the word of the Lord may run and be glorified, according as also toward you,

2 and that we may be rescued from the out-of-place and evil men; for the faith is not of all.

3 And faithful is the Lord, who will establish you and will guard from the evil one.

4 And we have been persuaded in Lord upon you, that what things we command you both you do and will do.

5 And the Lord may straighten your hearts unto the love of God and unto the remaining-under of the Christ.

6 And we command you, brothers, in name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to mark yourselves off from every brother walking unordered and not according to the giving-over which he received from us.

7 For you yourselves know how it is necessary to imitate us, because we were not unordered among you,

8 nor did we eat bread from anyone freely, but in labor and hardship, night and day working toward the not to weigh-upon any of you;

9 not that we do not have jurisdiction, but that we may give ourselves a type to you unto the to imitate us.

10 For also when we were toward you, this we were commanding you, that if anyone does not will to work, neither let him eat.

11 For we hear some walking among you unordered, working nothing, but working-around.

12 And to such we command and call-alongside through our Lord Jesus Christ, that working with quietness they may eat their own bread.

13 And you, brothers, do not give-out-badly doing good.

14 And if anyone does not obey our word through the letter, mark this one and do not mix-yourselves-with him, that he may be shamed;

15 and do not lead him as an enemy, but put-in-mind as a brother.

16 And the Lord of the peace himself may give you the peace through everything in every manner. The Lord with all of you.

17 The greeting with my hand, of Paul, which is a sign in every letter; thus I write.

18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ with all of you. Amen.

1 Note — v. 6. TR: τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ. “our Lord Jesus Christ.”

2 Note — v. 9. ἐξουσία → jurisdiction.

3 Note — v. 18. TR ends with Ἀμήν.
