Chapter 6
Now a day of salvation. Unequal yoke

Behold, now an acceptable season; behold, now a day of salvation.

1 And working-with, we also call-alongside you not to receive the grace of God into empty,

2 for he says, In an acceptable season I heard you, and in a day of salvation I helped you; behold, now an acceptable season; behold, now a day of salvation.

3 giving no stumbling in anything, that the service may not be blamed,

4 but in everything standing ourselves together as servants of God, in much remaining-under, in pressures, in necessities, in cramped-places,

5 in blows, in prisons, in instabilities, in labors, in sleeplessnesses, in fastings,

6 in purity, in knowledge, in long-temper, in kindness, in Holy Spirit, in unhypocritical love,

7 in word of truth, in power of God, through the weapons of the righteousness, the right and left,

8 through glory and dishonor, through ill-fame and good-fame; as deceivers and true,

9 as being unknown and being fully-known, as dying and behold we live, as being child-trained and not being put-to-death,

10 as being grieved and always rejoicing, as poor and enriching many, as having nothing and holding-down all things.

11 Our mouth has opened toward you, Corinthians; our heart has been widened.

12 You are not cramped in us, but you are cramped in your inward-parts.

13 And the same repayment — as to children I speak — be widened also you.

14 Do not become other-yoked to unfaithful ones; for what sharing to righteousness and lawlessness? And what fellowship to light toward darkness?

15 And what symphony of Christ toward Belial? Or what part to a faithful one with an unfaithful one?

16 And what joint-placement of a sanctuary of God with idols? For you are a sanctuary of living God, according as God said that I will dwell-in in them and walk-about-in, and I will be their God, and they will be to me a people.

17 Wherefore come out out of their midst and be marked-off, says Lord, and do not touch an unclean thing, and I will receive you in,

18 and I will be to you unto a father, and you will be to me unto sons and daughters, says Lord Almighty.

1 Note — v. 16. TR: ὑμεῖς γὰρ ναὸς θεοῦ ἐστε ζῶντος. “for you are a sanctuary of living God.”
