1 After these things Jesus manifested himself again to the disciples upon the sea of Tiberias; and he manifested thus.
2 There were together Simon Peter and Thomas, the one called Didymus, and Nathanael, the one from Cana of Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others out of his disciples.
3 Simon Peter says to them, “I go to fish.” They say to him, “We also come with you.” They went out and embarked into the boat immediately, and in that night they caught nothing.
4 And morning already having come to be, Jesus stood into the shore; yet the disciples did not know that it is Jesus.
5 Jesus therefore says to them, “Children, do you have any fish?” They answered him, “No.”
6 And he said to them, “Throw the net into the right parts of the boat, and you will find.” They threw therefore, and they were no longer able to draw it from the multitude of the fishes.
7 That disciple therefore whom Jesus loved says to Peter, “It is the Lord.” Simon Peter therefore, having heard that it is the Lord, girded the outer garment—for he was naked—and threw himself into the sea.
8 And the other disciples came in the little boat—for they were not far from the land, but about two hundred cubits—dragging the net of the fishes.
9 When therefore they got out into the land, they see a charcoal fire lying, and fish lying upon it, and bread.
10 Jesus says to them, “Bring from the fish which you now caught.”
11 Simon Peter went up and drew the net into the land, full of great fishes, one hundred fifty-three; and though there were so many, the net was not split.
12 Jesus says to them, “Come, breakfast.” And none of the disciples was daring to ask him, “Who are you?” knowing that it is the Lord.
13 Jesus therefore comes and takes the bread and gives to them, and the fish likewise.
14 This already was a third time Jesus was manifested to his disciples, having been raised from dead ones.
15 When therefore they breakfasted, Jesus says to Simon Peter, “Simon of Jonah, do you love me more than these?” He says to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He says to him, “Feed my lambs.”
16 He says to him again a second time, “Simon of Jonah, do you love me?” He says to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He says to him, “Shepherd my sheep.”
17 He says to him the third time, “Simon of Jonah, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” And he said to him, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus says to him, “Feed my sheep.
18 Amen, amen, I say to you, when you were younger, you were girding yourself and were walking where you were wishing; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and will carry you where you do not wish.”
19 And this he said, signifying by what death he will glorify God. And having said this he says to him, “Follow me.”
20 And Peter, having turned, sees the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also reclined in the supper upon his breast and said, “Lord, who is the one giving you over?”
21 Peter, having seen this one, says to Jesus, “Lord, and this one—what?”
22 Jesus says to him, “If I wish him to remain until I come, what is it toward you? You follow me.”
23 This word therefore went out into the brothers, that that disciple does not die; and Jesus did not say to him that he does not die, but, “If I wish him to remain until I come, what is it toward you?”
24 This is the disciple who witnesses about these things and who wrote these things, and we know that his witness is true.
25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that not even the world itself would have room for the books being written.
