Daily Devotional 12-7-25


“The Defeated Dictators Must Step Aside Today”


Key Verse


Romans 5:17 (ESV)

“For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.

Romans 6:11–14

“So you also must consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, to make you obey its passions. Do not present your members to sin as instruments for unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and your members to God as instruments for righteousness. For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace.”


The Picture


Sin and death are like ruthless dictators who seized power the day Adam fell. For centuries they ruled with terror, fear, and violence. Then Jesus stormed the palace, crushed their armies at the cross, and rose victorious on the third day. The war is over. The throne belongs to Him.

Yet every morning these defeated tyrants still knock on the door of your heart, waving fake warrants, shouting old threats, trying to convince you they are still in charge.


Today the Holy Spirit says: “Do not open the door. Do not negotiate. Do not bow.”


The Truth You Must Enforce Today  


  • The verdict is already in: you died with Christ; you rose with Christ (Romans 6:4–8).  

  • The old regime has zero legal authority over you (Colossians 2:14–15).  

  • Grace is now reigning, and you are called to reign in life through Him (Romans 5:21; 5:17). 

  • Sin shall not — will not — cannot be your master, because you are under a new King (Romans 6:14).


A Declaration to Speak Out Loud Right Now


“Sin, you are a liar and a deposed tyrant.

Death, you are a toothless coward.

I was crucified with Christ.

I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.

I am under grace, not law.

I am alive to God.

I reign in life today through Jesus Christ my Lord.


You have no dominion over me.

Step down. The King has come.”


One Simple Action for the Next 24 Hours


Every time temptation or condemnation whispers, answer out loud (even under your breath):


“Sin shall not have dominion over me — I am not under law but under grace.”

Say it ten times if you have to. The defeated dictators hate hearing the new constitution quoted.


Closing Prayer


Lord Jesus,


You disarmed the rulers and authorities and made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

Today I refuse to live as if they were still on the throne.


I receive again the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness.

I choose to reign in life through You — right now, this day.


Holy Spirit, enforce the victory that is already mine.


Let every thought, every word, every step today be an act of allegiance to the only King who lives forever.


Amen.


Walk out the door this morning as a liberated son or daughter of the King.

The dictators are defeated.

Live like it — today.
